Chairman Chris Geeson was quick to say how much great work Lawless and his staff had done for the club and tried to persuad Seamus to stay on. However, thast is not possible and he resigned immediately after his sides great home win against Shepshed Dynamo

Geeson, also acted quickly to appoint John Wilkinson, remarking that he had a short list of one and John was on it.
